Strong Season Opener for KC FIRE Track Club

KC Fire showed up in strong form at the Stride Ryte track meet on May 6. In total, the club earned 14 medals and had a combined total of 36 PRs set.
Every thrower in the meet established a new personal record. Kegan Maynor earned Bronze in the shot and discus. Zach Grace finished with Silver in the shot and discus. Matthew Perrea and Theo Grace both earned a Bronze in the shot put. Matthew also got fourth in the discus.
Our sprinters and jumpers established 14 PRs. In a huge field of competitors, we had fourth place finishes from Sam Hill in the 200m and long jump. Sam Benson came in fourth in the 400 meters.
The Mid and Long Distance crew had a double Gold medalist in Brooke Yeates in the 800m, and 1500m (both PRs.) Todd Yeates finished third in the 1500 (pending official review.) Ellie Maynor earned double Silver, and our female athlete of the week, Emory Nessa, earned Gold and Silver. Alex Frohna and Sarah Perrea both got 4th in the 1500m. Tylin Hodgkin finished fourth in the 800m. Our male athlete of the week, Sam Benson, knocked 6 seconds from his PR in the 800m, to finish with a Silver.

Welcome Middle Schoolers

MAY 8th: First Practice for all Middle School and JV High School athletes that have completed their school track season. Summer track provides a great opportunity for athletes competing in school sports to get an edge, increase their speed, improve their strength, and gear up for Fall sports. For those at the highest level, regional competition on a weekly basis is comparable to school state level competitions. We know you are up for the challenge.

MEET CANCELLED!

The Pure Talent Elite meet scheduled for 4/29 has been CANCELLED. The meet is tentatively preparing to move to Saturday May 27th.  Refunds will be issued and registration will be reopened once a new location has been confirmed.

Final Week to Sign Up & Order Uniforms

Parents, this is the final week to sign up and order uniforms. Our uniforms are custom ordered and cannot be reordered once the season begins. The uniform order will be submitted the morning of Tuesday, March 28. The last day to sign up and try on uniforms will be Monday, March 27. Please make arrangements with Coach Mat at coachmat[at]kcfiretrackclub.com or 816-721-3499 if you need to try on a uniform. We can take credit/debit card or check for sign ups and uniform orders.

Uniform and Signup Deadline

Parents, we are very sorry for the late notice, but due to circumstances with our uniform supplier we will have to process uniform orders differently than we have told many of you at our previous meetings.

Our uniform orders will have to be placed this coming week and we will have a fitting at our last meeting this Monday 3/20 at 6pm at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Team sign-up and uniform orders will close Sunday, March 26.

This meeting will be the same as our last two meetings so you will not need to attend that portion of the meeting. We will be having uniform fittings at the same time the meeting takes place. You can have your athlete try on the sample uniforms to find the perfect style and fit. We will have order forms available and take payment in the form of a check or credit/debit at that time.

Please plan on attending to try on uniforms. If you can not make it that night please contact Coach Mat to make arrangements to try on the uniform.
